If you would like to sponsor (either per mile or flat donation), please sign the Lenten walk clipboard at the church. You can put a check made payable to the church with “Lent walk” in memo line or put cash in an envelope marked “Lent walk” and place them in the offering plate. In addition, you can make an online donation two (2) ways: (1) go to our website (www.stjohnslutheranwinchester.org) and click on the green GIVE button and just follow the instructions and input your information OR (2) go to this direct link (https://tithe.ly/give?c=3185934) and input your information. Make sure to select “To”, then scroll down and select “Special – Lent Walk”. All monies will benefit the building fund and discretionary fund at St. John’s equally.
Update: Pastor Sonya walked over 240 miles this Lent, with help from some friends and Gabe in Massachusetts! I thank everyone who had donated to this. This is the only fundraiser for the Discretionary Fund each year which helps folks in need in our community. If you would still like to donate, please write check to church and put “lent walk” in the memo line. Thank you so much for your support!!!  St. John’s will host our annual egg hunt on Sunday, April 2, 2023 immediately after worship. Children are asked to bring a basket or bag to collect their eggs. We will also need help hiding the eggs at 10:00 a.m. that morning. If you would like to donate plastic Easter eggs, individually wrapped candy or small prizes, please give any of these items to Sarah Murphy by March 26, 2023. In the event of inclement weather, the Easter Egg hunt will be held immediately after worship on Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023.
Both Frederick and Shenandoah Counties are at LOW levels for COVID. As such, CDC recommends you stay up to date with COVID vaccines, including boosters. Avoid contact with people who have suspected/confirmed COVID and isolate if you have suspected/confirmed COVID. Follow the recommendations if exposed to someone with COVID. If you are at high risk of getting very sick, talk with a healthcare provider about prevention. People may choose to mask at any time. People with symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should wear a high-quality mask or respirator when indoors in public.
