Thanks to a St. John’s Thrivent action card, we have books titled, “Faithful Families for Advent & Christmas” in the narthex, which give ideas for families for the Advent and Christmas season.  Each family is invited to take a book. Since we’re still living in a COVID world, this is another way for families to enjoy their faith together during the upcoming holidays!

St. John's Newest Ministry

Thanks to an $800 grant from the VA Synod/Lutheran Disaster Relief and a Thrivent action card, St. John's will be offering a Blessing Box feeding ministry!  Thank you to Greg Clutter for his craftsmanship and donation of materials, we have a box that we’ll fill with Blessings each week so that folks can stop and take what they need (or can leave items if they desire.)  This box will be close to the mailbox and road so it’s clearly visible and easy to stop and get what they need.  If you would like to contribute an item or two for this ministry, you can bring your items and put them in the long black tote in the narthex.  Some ideas for the Blessing Box are ~  dry beans, canned meats, fruit cups, canned vegetables, mac and cheese cups, peanut butter, canned soups, oatmeal, small bottles of hand sanitizer, soap, detergent, etc…  Please see any council member if you have questions!  Thank you!
