Building Fund

Did you know? In addition to our steeple fund at St. John's, Council has established a building fund for a new social hall and parking lot improvements. Council members have donated to this fund and invite you to do the same as you’re able. Checks can be made out to the church with “building” in the memo line. As always, we thank you for your support of all of our ministries!

St. John's Change for growth!! The youth will be collecting change (and small bills) in the wheelbarrow each week to support our building program at St. John's. Thank you for supporting our youth & our building program!

May 5, 2019 – June 23, 2019 – Youth Sunday practices will be held beginning Sunday, May 5, 2019 and will continue through Sunday, June 23, 2019 in the social hall during Sunday School from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Youth Sunday is Sunday, June 30, 2019.

The theme will be “We are the Children.....Children of God”. Children interested in participating may complete the sign-up sheet located in the narthex. Please contact Melissa Seward with any questions. All are welcome to participate in this event.

Youth Ministry “Church Membership Service Day” – Saturday, May 18, 2019 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Youth and adult volunteers are needed to help our church members who need assistance with various home projects (i.e., preparing and planting flower beds, mulching, raking, planting grass seed, small repairs, painting, cleaning, etc.) It’s possible that we will tackle projects around the church as well.

We will meet at the church (end time subject to change depending on the number of projects to be completed)

Elderly or infirm church members see or email (if their name is highlighted, you may email that person) Jenae Jenkins, Corrine Whalen or Colleen Loy to request assistance with a home project. It is imperative that you identify the projects that you need assistance with.

Sunday, May 12, 2019 – 12:15 p.m. – Special called congregational meeting at St. John’s immediately following worship. The purpose of the meeting is to vote on hiring an architect for our building project, provide an update on the steeple project, and call for a vote on the capital campaign for the building fund. We need all voting members to attend – please plan to join us! Thank you!

Sunday, May 12, 2018 – 12:30 p.m. – St. John’s Council meeting immediately following special called congregational meeting.

Saturday, May 18, 2019 – 6:00 p.m. - Saturday, May 18, 2019 – 6:00 p.m. – Mocha and a Message at St. John’s - Did you know… as God’s faithful people, we live in two kingdoms? Which one do you favor? Come and find out along with the new contemporary song: "I Want to Go to Church". Bingo immediately following Mocha and a Message.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS EVENT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED FOR SUNDAY, JUNE 2, 2019!! Sunday, May 19, 2019 – 12:15 p.m. – Mr. Todd Heidelberger will be at St. John’s following worship to discuss Thrivent membership. If you would like to become a Thrivent member, please plan to stay and hear more about this from Todd.

Tuesday, May 21, 2019 – 7:00 p.m. - Building Team meeting at St. John’s

Sunday, May 26, 2019 - 11:00 a.m. - Worship with Holy Communion

Sunday, May 26, 2019 – 12:15 p.m. - Luncheon at St. John’s following worship - The church will provide chicken and the congregation is asked to bring a covered dish to share. After the luncheon, everyone is invited to stay and attend the Memorial Day Service at 3:00 p.m.

Sunday, May 26, 2019 – 3:00 p.m. - Memorial Day Service at St. John’s (following luncheon) - Guest speaker to be announced. Please feel free to bring pictures of your veteran as they will be displayed on the table that has been set up for this purpose.

Friday, May 31, 2019 - Relay For Life at Shenandoah County

We collected 212 food items for CCAP in May. Thanks to all for your generous donations
