Thanks to an $800 grant from the VA Synod/Lutheran Disaster Relief and a Thrivent action card, St. John's will be offering a Blessing Box feeding ministry! Thank you to Greg Clutter for his craftsmanship and donation of materials, we have a box that we’ll fill with Blessings each week so that folks can stop and take what they need (or can leave items if they desire.) This box will be close to the mailbox and road so it’s clearly visible and easy to stop and get what they need. If you would like to contribute an item or two for this ministry, you can bring your items and put them in the long black tote in the narthex. Some ideas for the Blessing Box are ~ dry beans, canned meats, fruit cups, canned vegetables, mac and cheese cups, peanut butter, canned soups, oatmeal, small bottles of hand sanitizer, soap, detergent, etc… Please see any council member if you have questions! Thank you!
If you haven’t picked up your Sunday School to go packets, we’ll keep them at church or let Pastor know and we’ll make arrangements to get them to you. The next virtual Sunday School lesson is scheduled for Oct 25, 2020 and the theme is Reformation. There is a digital component and also a physical part (including craft items) that we will hand out that day. Sunday School to go packets will be handed out the last Sunday of each month for October, November, and December, courtesy of a group effort of the Northern Valley Conference roster leaders group. Also, we need volunteers to help assemble the packets, please let Pastor Sonya know – she could use the help!
