 During our Paint Event scheduled for Saturday, November 17, 2018, we will be painting a wood-slice like the one pictured. It’s reversible! All supplies provided. No experience necessary and all ages are welcome!! Please consider bringing a snack or drinks to share as they would be greatly appreciated! Sunday, December 16, 2018 – 3:00 p.m. - Blue Christmas at The Village at Orchard Ridge The Return of Blue Christmas - Do you ever feel social pressure to be full of good cheer during the Holidays, but perhaps your heart just isn’t feeling it? Or, maybe you will really be missing someone during this season who has recently died or who may have been gone for some time. Perhaps your family situation has changed the way you feel about Christmas. If any of this describes you, then you are invited to attend a Blue Christmas worship service on Sunday, December 16, at 3:00 PM in the Chapel. Congregations and Pastors of the Northern Valley Conference (Virginia Synod) and the Pastoral Care Department of The Village at Orchard Ridge are sponsoring a time for a quieter, more reflective service that takes seriously that we humans don’t always feel the same way about things. We will be using the contemplative Holden Evening Prayer service by Marty Haugen. The hope of the Christ Child will be offered in scripture, song, story and prayer. You are invited to come with your sorrow, fear, anxiety, and anger with no pressure to conform to holiday social standards. Christ came into the world for all people…not just those of good cheer. Sunday, December 30, 2018 – 11:00 a.m. - Lessons and carols worship. This is Bring a friend or family member to worship Sunday. Please invite a friend or family member to join us for worship! Magnets and invites are available in the sanctuary! No luncheon that day! We collected 232 food items for CCAP in December. Thanks to all for your generous donations.  Please plan on joining us on Saturday, December 15, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at St. John’s for Christmas caroling. We plan to visit individuals and sing Christmas Carols. We may need to adjust the schedule depending on the number of planned visits. Please submit names of individuals who could use a visit (we will work in as many as possible) to Amy Maphis by no later than November 25, 2018. The caroling will end at the church with soup and snacks provided, and in time for Mocha and a Message. What a great way to get into the Christmas spirit!
