We are collecting plastic to get a second Trex bench made. We need to collect a 1,000 pounds of plastic in 12 months or approximately 83 pounds per month (November 15, 2024) to make the second bench. BAGS – (plastic grocery, bread, produce, dry cleaning, newspaper, ice, Ziploc baggies, cereal bags, bubble wrap), also plastic wrap on cases of water bottles, and pallet wrap. Everything must be clean! We have three (3) collection containers: one in the narthex, one in the Sunday school annex, and one in the social hall.
Update: We collected 89 pounds of recyclable plastic film during the month of August! This brings our total collected to 908 pounds to date. We still need 92 pounds by November 15, 2024 to meet the goal of 1,000 pounds of plastic for our second bench. This averages out to about nine (9) pounds of plastic per week. Great job!
