May 7, 2017 - June 25, 2017 - Youth Sunday practices will begin the first Sunday in May during Sunday School, 10:00-11:00....and will be held every Sunday right up until Youth Sunday, which is Sunday June 25th.

Sunday, May 14, 2017 - 10:55 a.m. - Special Called Congregational Meeting ~ SJ will have a special called congregational meeting to discuss repairs to the AC unit (if needed) after an estimate is received this week. The sole purpose of the meeting will be to share the estimate for repair and receive congregational approval to proceed.
Saturday, May 20, 2017 – 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. (end time is approximate) - A cleanup /organizing day of our storage areas (including the attic, furnace room, and building). The purpose is to get rid of things no longer needed to make room and organize. We will not go through books, papers, etc. during this session. All help is welcome and appreciated. Saturday, May 20, 2017 – 6 p.m. - Mocha and a Message - This month’s Mocha will feature a special theme song by Neil Diamond “The Good Lord Loves You” and also a “special appearance” by Neil Diamond. Come and see!

Sunday, May 28, 2017 - 3 p.m. - Memorial Day Service - Chaplain Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr. will be a guest speaker. He is the son of the late C. Ernest Seastrunk, Sr. who served as our parish Pastor 1930-1937. He comes from Colombia, SC. Please bring pictures and/or memorabilia from military veterans to display.

Help us Provide Lunches to the Winchester/Frederick County Therapeutic Day Treatment Program—Summer 2017—by donating cash, check or Walmart gift cards for Lutheran Family Services summer lunch program. Checks should be made payable to “St. John’s Lutheran Church” (just write “lunch program” in the memo). The co-directors expect to provide 1200 lunches to students from June 19th-July 21st.
