Lent starts mid-February and hope you will join us as we GLOW (God Lights Our Way) this year! Please join us for our special services and worship each Sunday for a token to help us all GLOW (Please note: all entries in green will be held at Gravel Springs and all entries in blue will be held at St. John’s):

Ɨ Saturday, February 17, 2018 - 6pm - Mocha and a Message with special Lent song and Bingo following - St. John's. Due to the strong possiblilty of inclement weather this evening, Mocha and a Message has been canceled this month.
Ɨ Thursday, March 29, 2018 – 7:00 p.m. – Maundy Thursday worship with Holy Communion at Gravel Springs
Ɨ Friday, March 30, 2018 – 7:00 p.m. - Good Friday worship at – St. John’s
Ɨ Sunday, April 1, 2018 – 6:00 a.m. – Easter sunrise with Holy Communion at Gravel Springs with breakfast following
Ɨ Sunday, April 1, 2018 – 11:00 a.m. – Easter worship service with Holy Communion at St. John’s.
Lent T-shirts
This Lent, we will be doing an order for Lent t-shirts. The cost of the t-shirts is five dollars ($5.00) per shirt. The t-shirts are black with our “GLOW” theme on the front and our church name on the back. Make checks payable to St. John’s with “Lent t-shirts” in the memo line or you can pay with cash. If you have a financial hardship, please let Pastor Sonya know and we’ll get you t-shirts. We want all to have the opportunity to have a t-shirt. Lenten Walk
Pastor Sonya’s annual Lenten walk will be a little different this year. She will commit to 1,000 minutes of walk/run/exercise AND you can help out. Since Lent is a season of discipline, if you would like to help reach the 1,000 minute goal, just exercise for any amount of time and let Pastor Sonya know how many minutes you did and she’ll add it to her total. In addition, if you would like to sponsor this annual event, all proceeds will be split evenly between our Scholarship Fund and the Discretionary Fund. February Outreach Project
Our Outreach project for the month of February will be to collect funds to benefit World Hunger. Checks may be made payable to either ELCA World Hunger or to St. John's with "ELCA World Hunger" in the memo line. You may place your check in the offering plate. Our youth will collect loose change for this effort during the offering. If you have any questions, please contact Nancy Pitcock.
